With the economy still struggling, it seems everyone is looking for ways to save. While gym memberships can be pricey, some good alternatives include home workouts. To avoid boredom, try building a library of different exercise DVDs and switch up your routine regularly. I like to keep a regular office binder with pages from fitness magazines in it. Each day, I turn to a page, and do that series of exercises.
When shopping for exercise equipment, check out local second-hand shops for great deals on barely used gear. Retailers like Play It Again Sports offer great deals on used gear. http://www.playitagainsports.com/
Also, consider purchasing fitness equipment that has multiple uses. An exercise ball, for example, can be used for ab work, to support the body during cardio or to improve balance, try using one as a chair while watching TV. A step can be used for cardio exercises and can double as weight bench.
Of course, all you really need for a great workout is a pair of shoes to get walking.

Here at Lincoln Trinity Bluff we have a fantastic athletic center where you can have a fantastic workout. However, whether it’s here or a gym where you pay a membership, or even a facility where you work, what are your gym pet peeves?
Personally my pet peeve is when someone just sits on the bike, pedals slowly, and basically watches the TV instead of working out.
