Cedar Planked Salmon
- 3 (12 inch) untreated cedar planks
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 (2 pound) salmon fillets, skin removed
- Soak the cedar planks for at least 1 hour in warm water. Soak longer if you have time.
- In a shallow dish, stir together the vegetable oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions, ginger, and garlic. Place the salmon fillets in the marinade and turn to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to one hour.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat. Place the planks on the grate. The boards are ready when they start to smoke and crackle just a little.
- Place the salmon fillets onto the planks and discard the marinade. Cover, and grill for about 20 minutes. Fish is done when you can flake it with a fork. It will continue to cook after you remove it from the grill.

The 80’s Baby!
Who didn’t like the 80’s!? The 80’s was filled with big hair, loud music, ripped clothes and rock and roll. I’m an 80’s baby so I didn’t actually get to participate in all the 80’s fun. But I still make sure I catch up on all my 80’s trivia and music. I especially love 80’s music! Sing a song and I will name it for you in a heart beat. I think it might be time for an 80’s Flash Back!
Do you remember this 80’s hit?
What did you love about the 80’s? Or what did you hate about the 80’s?
It’s guessing time again! Who’s ready for another contest!? If you love pop culture and the entertainment world you should know who this star is. It shouldn’t be hard to guess right. The minute I looked at this picture I knew who it was. Write your guess in a comment! Let’s see who guesses right!

Don’t you hate it when you are around people that smoke and you don’t? I feel like I’m going to pass out, because of all the smoke. Even if you are a smoker I know you hate it when cars or trucks puff out thick and dirty air from their pipes. The worst is when you drive by a factory and you see all the cloudy pollution begin spat into the air. I can only imagine how polluted the America air is.
May is Clean Air Month! It’s time for America’s much needed yearly check up on the status of the air we all breathe in. The American society needs to do its best and try to make a difference. The first step to that is awareness. We all need to be aware and know the facts. I’m sure that must people don’t realize how polluted the air is.
“a staggering 60% of Americans—that’s over 186 million of us—live in an area where air pollution endangers lives. As if that weren’t bad enough, some of the leading causes of air pollution—dirty power plants, dirty diesel engines, and ocean-going vessels—are contributing to global warming as well. Despite the fact that more and more Americans are embracing the green movement every year, air pollution in many major cities has actually worsened since last year’s study.”
What will you do this month to help keep our air clean?

Happy Mother’s Day To All The Mother’s At Lincoln Trinity Bluff
Your Mother Is Always With You…
Your mother is always with you…
She’s the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She’s the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks.
She’s the cool hand on your brow
when you’re not well.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She’s crystallized in every tear drop.
She’s the place you came from,
your first home…
She’s the map you follow
with every step that you take.
She’s your first love
and your first heart break…
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space…
Not even death…
will ever separate you
from your mother…
You carry her inside of you…
