A Taste of Dallas-The Meddlesome Moth

The Meddlesome Moth is the new happening place in town. The restaurant offers more than 129 beers. This restaurant also offers old time favorites like meat pies, fish and chips, and bangers and mash.

This new gastropub would be a great place to enjoy a lunch or a hardy meal. One of their signature starters is a Fried Hominy. This dish is lightly fried until it is a golden brown and dusted with cayenne. You should also try Moth’s mussels. The Moth’s Mussels are a bow of classic blend of lemon, thyme, white wine, and butter. You can also grab a sandwich. Next time you are hungry go moth.

The AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas

The AT & T Performing Arts Center opened its doors in Dallas in October 2009.

The facility is located in the heart of Dallas in the center of the Dallas Arts District.

Starting May 5th, the AT&T Performing Arts Center will present their second season of Patio Sessions. This is an event that features a free music series in the Center’s Sammons Park.

This weekly event will feature an assorted schedule of local artists from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Acts like Bubba Hernandez  y Los Super Vatos, Jamie Reyes Trio, Smile Smile/Tiger Darrow, Salim Nourallah/Nicholas Altobelli, and The Killdares will be performing. Performances are set to begin at 5:30pm.

According to their website, Patio Sessions will take place outside the Center’s Winspear Opera House. There will be beer, wine, and food available for purchase.

31 Cent Scoop Night at Baskin Robbins

Scoop up some ice cream  on 31 cent scoop night ! Baskin Robbins is hosting 31 cent scoop night on April 27, 2011.  This purpose of this event is to honor your local firefighters.

Come out and enjoy flavors like classic vanilla, mint chocolate chip, chocolate, Oreo cookies ‘n cream, pralines ‘n cream even the special flavor of the month.

This month’s flavor is the Firehouse #31. Enjoy a heat of a crunch hot cinnamon ribbon laced with red cinnamon ice cream packed with hot candy pieces. Vanilla ice cream is added to cool off the fire from this tasty treat.

The Dallas Art District

The Dallas Arts District is located in downtown Dallas and it takes up 17-blocks throughout a 68-acre neighborhood.

Many activities and events are hosted in the Dallas Arts District year round. It is home to some of the most renowned businesses in the United States.

The Annette Strauss Artist Square is home to more than 10 facilities and organizations. Some of the organizations include, the Belo Mansion/Dallas Bar Association, Booker T. Washington High School for the performing and Visual Arts, Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, and the Dallas Back Dance Theatre.

The A T & T Performing Arts Center opened its doors in October 2009. Since then, long lists of acts have performed such as Candy Dulfer, David Sanborn, and Momix the Chieftains.

Arts & Letters Live is a literary and performing arts series for individuals of all ages at the Dallas Museum of Art.  This organization also features award-winning authors and actors of regional, national, and international acclaim.

4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend Zombie Walk

Calling all zombies, the 4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend is hosting a Zombie Walk sponsored by the Moxley Manor Haunted House on April 30, 2011.

If you want to participate in this fun gory event, than come out dressed to impress in your best zombie attire.

Individuals, who are new to becoming zombified should arrive undead between 8am and 10 am at the Whataburger/Blue Star Shell Station on the southeast corner of Freeport Parkway and West John Carpenter Freeway.

Zombie categories are:

  • Area of Highest Risk
  • Infection Origin
  • The Last Reported

The Zombie walk is only a mile long.  The procedure is to walk slowly and safely along the Plaza Drive right into the doors of the Sheraton Hotel. This is a great time to show your off gory acting skills.

Fort Worth Library Book Sale

The spring book sale is coming up this weekend. Come out and take advantage of books as low as fifty cent. This book sale has a wide variety of items to choose from such as Cds, audio books, regular books, and children’s books.

The book sale will take place at the new library location at the Meadowbrook Branch Library.

The sale dates are listed as follows:

12pm-5pm, Friday, April 8

9am-5pm, Saturday, April 9

12pm-5pm, Sunday, April 10

On Sunday, you can purchase an entire box of books for only $10. If you do not have a box, don’t worry, they will supply the box for you.  Master, Visa, and Discover card payments are accepted. The proceeds from this sale will benefit the Fort Worth Library.
