So, we thought we would compile some great things for you to do this weekend. And since it is the Fourth of July, we thought giving you 4 very fun things was just the right way to go about it. So, here they are:
4 Great Fourth of July Events in Fort Worth
Fort Worth’s Fourth. Celebrate a free fun event on the Trinity River complete with live music, inner tubes, and plenty of food and of course fireworks!
Concerts in the Garden. Held at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, this local tradition blends an amazing fireworks display with heart-pounding marches by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
Less than a mile and a half away from Lincoln Trinity Bluff, you can enjoy a time-honored summer tradition by attending a baseball game! Take a friend, your family or even a date over to Lagrave Field for a game this season. Buy some peanuts, crackerjacks and an ice cold beverage while you cheer on your hometown team, the Fort Worth Cats.
You don’t have to be a huge sports fan to enjoy a day out at the ballgame. Easy to follow along and with the potential for very exciting moments, baseball is a fun sport for any type of spectator. Make a whole day of it and pack up a picnic and cooler and tailgate prior to the game. Don’t forget to bring your glove in case a foul ball comes your way!
For full information on tickets and the full schedule, see the Fort Worth Cats website. Click here for directions to Lagrave Field, which is less than 2 miles from Lincoln Trinity Bluff Apartments.
For the last movie showing this summer on June 30th, Stars Under the Stars will be showing Seabiscuit on a 40′ x 20′ Airscreen in the Chisholm Trail Parking. Watch the true story set in the Depression Era about the unlikely thoroughbred, Seabiscuit, and his jockey, played by Toby Maguire, who win races and the hearts of the nation.

There will be a concession snack bar for drinks, popcorn and sweets. You can also order to-go from one of the numerous restaurants in Sundance Square and have a picnic! The movie will begin at dusk around 9pm. But come early and you can see special entertainment presented by the Fort Worth Zoo with Wild Wonders from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
Walking to Sundance Square from Lincoln Trinity Bluff Apartments, head southwest on E Bluff St toward N Pecan St, take the 2nd left onto Grove St N, turn right onto E 1st St and turn left onto Main St. Sundance Square will be on your left.
The unlike-any-other Black Forest Cake is a must at Swiss Pastry Shop!
Only 5 miles from Lincoln at Trinity Bluff Apartments is a yummy pastry shop where you are guaranteed to get a bangin’ breakfast! We mean that literally because you’ll get more bang for your buck at Swiss Pastry Shop. Fort Worth Hole in the Wall reviewer ordered the country omelet, which is a Swiss specialty, and a pastry to-go and “had enough food to feed the entire population of Swissies here in Texas.” Get a terrific breakfast and a savory sweet take-home. Try and choose just one from their pastry cabinet . . .
Sticky buns, almond sticks, raspberry horse shoes, turnovers, fruit pockets, apple strudel, cinnamon rolls and more!
Oh . . . did we mention that the Swiss Pastry Shop is “home of Fort Worth’s famous Black Forest Cake.” They call it the “Uncake.” Not because it is not cake, rather because it’s a cake unlike any other cake!

Now playing at the Texas Star Dinner Theater is the “Waylaid at the Livery.” Saddle up for the investigative hunt for the murderer of cowboy “Horse Face Jack.”
This is much more than a murder mystery though, mind you, it’s a full blown comedy show too! Prepare to meet the most hilarious characters straight from the Texan times of drifters, cowboys, saloon girls and gamblers.
Dinner shows are Friday and Saturday evenings. Doors open at 7 pm but don’t be late because dinner is served promptly at 7:30 and the show starts at 8. For $55 you get great entertainment and delicious meal. Not a bad deal! Make a reservation online or call (817) 310-5588.
