Effectively finish up spring cleaning with a few of these cleaning tips.
Spring cleaning is an annual event for getting your home free of the winter doldrums and brightening up the atmosphere with a breath of fresh air for the upcoming months. To add the finishing touches to the yearly mop till you drop event, try these spring cleaning efficiency tips to get your home in tip-top condition, without wasting away the entire weekend.
Get a jump start on sales by clipping coupons. Put them in a easy to carry folder and keep them in your car. Whenever you go shopping, you’ll have money saving coupons with you for those cleaning supplies.
Put your cleaning supplies in a carrier like a shower caddy or basket with a handle. This way you can move from room to room with everything you need.
It’s important to keep the momentum rolling but it’s equally important to take scheduled breaks so you don’t burn yourself out. Set a timer for periodic breaks, for a snack, lunch and beverages to stay hydrated.
Once the cleaning day is over, reward yourself with a great meal, movie or super tasty dessert. Be sure everyone who helped gets a reward, too.

Spend the day running stairs with your dog for a good healthy workout.
We all know that exercise is good for us, but staying motivated can be tricky in our busy lives. Exercise with a dog, though, and you will stay motivated a lot longer. One good exercise that builds sculpted legs and helps your dog stay in top form is the stair climber.
To perform this simple exercise, find a good set of stairs (such as the ones we have at Charles Nash Elementary less than a tenth of a mile away, or use bleachers), and keep your canine companion on a leash. Run up and down the stairs as many times as you and your pup can to increase your heart rate and get those legs working.
Change the way you hit the stairs for a variety of workouts — take them two at a time or run up them sideways. Your dog will play along and you’ll both get an amazing workout while having fun.
Try this exercise at your apartment in Fort Worth with a dog of your choice (hopefully one you’ve adopted!), and you and your pup will be fit and trim in no time at all!
Snatch a burger and a cool drink at the Pour House this weekend.
Are you on the lookout for a local hangout in Fort Worth? We know a great place where you can kick back and relax with friends in a laid-back atmosphere with good food and good service — The Pour House!
The Pour House is located at 2725 West 7th Street, less than two miles from our community, and is a perfect spot to hang out with friends after work, or go for a casual weekend brunch after a night out on the town. The fare is American, but not your average American — it’s got familiar items with spicy twists right alongside the classics. Our favorites include the blue cheese jalapeno burger, the PH Ultimate grilled cheese, the pecan crusted chicken, and the red pepper penne pasta.
Vegetarians don’t have to worry, either, because any burger patty can be substituted with an amazing black bean patty. Many of the other menu items can be easily made vegetarian style, as well.
The next time you’re looking for casual dining in Fort Worth, head on over to The Pour House with some friends, and enjoy an evening of fun in a friendly and laid-back place!
Joe T. Garcia’s: They may not call it “brunch” but the breakfast that’s served up from 11am-3pm on weekends is brunch in most of our books. Try Joe T. Garcia’s Huevos Racheros or other Tex-Mex favorites.
Cowtown Diner: If you’re looking for brunch with a kick, then the Cowtown Diner is as good a place to check out as any other. Mom can enjoy the Eggs Benedict creation, Chili Benedict. Need I say more?
Taverna: Try Mother’s Day brunch at Taverna if mom is one of those who likes everything cooked to order. Taverna does pan fried eggs with sausage, served over truffle oil garlic bread with potatoes.
All three of these places offer up great offerings for Mother’s Day brunch in Fort Worth. Take your mom out downtown this year for new Mother’s Day memories!
