trinity bluffs

This Trinity Bluffs apartment features soothing neutrals.

Set the mood in your luxury Fort Worth apartment with your choice of color schemes. Bring the right tone to each room with these guidelines for decorating with color.

Tranquil shades of blue. Powerful and soothing, blues remind us of the ocean. In a living room blues are not only inviting but calming.

Natural green tones. Shades of green are refreshing and organic. Green provides peace and a feeling of safety. It is a perfect color to add to any bedroom. Hues that are refreshing and soothing are perfect accents for any living space.

The power of neutrals. Neutral colors such as grays and taupe have the power to tone down other vibrant colors. They are calming and quiet. The steady elegance of these color allows your other colors to shine in any room.

Energizing warm tones. Shades of red, orange, and yellow are perfect colors for rooms of preparation and the enjoyment of food. They are energetic and cheerful. Toned-down shades, such as coral, are tranquil and rejuvenating and when combined with white tones are perfect for bedrooms.

How to be the Perfect Holiday Host

During the holiday season, you are sure to have friends over to your apartment for dinner or drinks. Whatever the occasion, it is important that you treat your guests properly and practice being a good host. Follow these holiday tips to ensure that the party is a success.

  • The lighting sets the mood of the entire party. If the overhead lights are too bright, turn them off and use just your tabletop lamps to create a warm, glowing atmosphere where conversation can flow more easily.
  • If you are serving dinner, it is a good idea to make seating arrangements. Try to place people near each other that know each other already. If you have a quiet guest, seating them near someone who is friendly and open can draw them out of their shell.
  • Let guests help prepare the meal. When everyone contributes to the meal, you can have fun preparing and eating instead of feeling like you are waiting on your guests.
  • When it is time to wrap things up, use gentle cues like packing to-go containers or brewing coffee.

  • Five Weeks: Start using up your perishable food.
  • Four Weeks: Order and purchase all necessary packing supplies.
  • Three Weeks: Start packing up and label the boxes appropriately, such as “Fragile” and “Load Last”. Color code your boxes so movers do not know the exact items inside.

A Change in Wardrobe Can Have Positively Affect Your Life

Apparently, clothes DO make the man. Have you ever noticed that wearing a business suit to work makes you more productive rather than if you were wearing jeans and a t-shirt?  You might think this is a coincidence, but clothing may truly have an impact on the way we think and on our behavior.

Studies on something called Enclothed Cognition state that the symbolic significance of the clothes you are wearing will remind you of what they represent.  Eventually, how you feel from the reminder will eventually translate to affecting your behavior. In two separate experiments, it was found that people who wore white coats and believed they were lab coats behaved more carefully.  People who dressed in their everyday clothes or were told the white coats were paint smocks actually made more errors.

Do you think what you wear affects your behavior? Share your thoughts in the comment section below, and contact us for more information about Trinity Bluff and living in Fort Worth in the heart of downtown.
